1. S'mores
Ingredients: Graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate bars.
Instructions: Roast marshmallows over the fire use the Smores Skewers until golden brown. Sandwich the roasted marshmallow and a piece of chocolate between two graham crackers. Enjoy!
2. Popcorn
Ingredients: Popcorn kernels, oil, salt.
Instructions: Place popcorn kernels and a bit of oil in a Popcorn Popper. Cover with a lid, leaving a small vent. Hold over the fire, shaking occasionally, until popping slows. Season with salt.
3. Campfire Sandwiches
Ingredients: Bread, cheese, deli meats, butter.
Instructions: Butter the outside of two slices of bread. Layer cheese and meat inside. Cook in a cast iron Sandwich Maker or pie iron over the fire until golden brown and the cheese melts.
4. Campfire Burgers
Ingredients: Ground beef, burger buns, cheese, toppings.
Instructions: Form patties from ground beef and season. Grill over the fire using a Cast Iron Double Broiler for about 5-7 minutes per side. Add cheese in the last minute. Serve with buns and toppings.
5. Hot Dogs
Ingredients: Hot dogs, buns, condiments.
Instructions: Skewer hot dogs on sticks or use a grill grate. Roast over the fire until heated through and slightly charred. Serve in buns with your favorite condiments.
6. Garlic Bread
Ingredients: French bread, butter, garlic, parsley.
Instructions: Mix softened butter with minced garlic and chopped parsley. Spread on sliced bread, wrap in foil, and place on the bread grill or near coals for 10-15 minutes.
7. Ham and Bean Soup
Ingredients: Canned beans, diced ham, broth, vegetables (carrots, celery), seasonings.
Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a Dutch oven. Place over the fire and simmer for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through. The popular sizes are 4QT, 6QT, and 9QT. Normally, you can use a Cooking Tripod with Hanging, or a Tripod Stand.
8. Grilled Oysters
Ingredients: Fresh oysters, lemon, hot sauce.
Instructions: Place oysters and shrimp on a Oyster Grill Pan or Shrimp Grill Pan over the fire. Cook until the shells pop open (about 5-10 minutes). Serve with lemon and hot sauce.
9. Roast Garlic
Ingredients: Whole heads of garlic, Olive oil, Salt and pepper (optional)
Instructions: Slice the top off each head of garlic to expose the individual cloves. Drizzle a little olive oil over the exposed cloves. Sprinkle with salt and pepper if desired. Put the garlic heads in the cast iron Garlic Roaster. Roast until the cloves are soft and caramelized. You can check by squeezing the heads gently; they should give easily.
10. Dutch Oven Chili
Ingredients: Ground beef, canned beans, diced tomatoes, chili seasoning, onions.
Instructions: Brown ground beef and onions in the Dutch oven over the fire. Add remaining ingredients and simmer for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Normally, you can use a Cooking Tripod with Hanging, or a Tripod Stand.
Tips for Cooking:
Always supervise food while cooking to prevent burning.
Use long-handled utensils for safety.
Prepare all ingredients in advance to make cooking easier.
