If you own a Weber grill with the GS4 system, you know how important it is to keep your grill in top condition. Whether you need replacement grates, burners, or igniters, finding the right parts can be a bit tricky. But don’t worry—we’ve got you covered. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you find the correct parts for your GS4 grill.
Step 1: Identify Your Grill Model
The first step in finding the right replacement parts is to identify your grill model accurately. The GS4 system is used in multiple Weber grill series, including the Spirit II and Genesis II series. To find your model number:
Check the Model Label: Look for the model label on your grill. It’s usually located on the right side panel, inside the cart, on the grill leg, or on the back of the grill. The label will have a model number (e.g., Spirit II E-310, Genesis II E-310)
Determine the Series: Confirm whether your grill is part of the Spirit II, Genesis II, or another series. This is crucial because parts for different series are not interchangeable.

Step 3: What if the Model Label on My Grill is Missing or Worn Out?
1. You can determine if it is a Spirit II or Genesis II series by checking the metal plate on the side shelf, as shown in the pictures below. It is a very noticeable metal plate on your shelf.
2. Once you’ve identified the series, take note of the following details:
Number of Burners: Is your grill a 2-burner, 3-burner, 4-burner, or 6-burner model? For example, a Genesis II E-310 has three burners, while an E-415 has four.
Simply determine it as the 200 series if your grill has 2 burners. Let’s say your grill is the 300 series if it has 3 burners (or 3 main burners plus a sear burner). and If your grill has 4 main burners, it is a 400 series.
Now things are clear. Return to Step 2 above and check the correct parts for your grill model.
Step 4: Regular Maintenance
- Regular maintenance can extend the life of your grill and reduce the need for frequent replacements. Follow these tips to keep your grill in top shape:
- Clean the Cooking Box: Remove grates and Flavorizer bars, and brush out excess grease and debris.
- Burn Off Residue: Preheat your grill on high for 15 minutes to burn off residue. use a brush to clean it.
- Clean the Exterior: Use a microfiber towel and appropriate cleaner for stainless steel or porcelain-coated surfaces.
Finding the right replacement parts for your GS4 grill doesn’t have to be complicated. By accurately identifying your grill model and using the right resources, you can keep your Weber grill performing like new.
