If the fire tries to burn back into the feed system or push exhaust up the feed tube, this snap disc will detect the heat rise above 250°F and open the main power circuit, killing the power to the entire stove. This switch must be manually reset to restore power and resume operation. There is a reset button between the two wires attached to the switch.
