For Most Weber Gas Grill, It's about to confirm it's a weber spirit genesis or summit ; how much burner your grill has; and it's a side knobs weber grill or a front knobs weber grill.

Spirit Grills only have 2 burner and 3 burner models;

Genesis manufactured before 2017 have 2 burner and 3 burner models; after 2017, genesis got genesis ii 4 burner 400 series and 6 burner 600 series.

If it's a side knobs weber grill, means it's manufactured before 2012;

For a front knobs weber grill, it usually been manufactured after 2013, summit series not included, all summit series are front knobs.

For Weber Q Series Gas Grill: the defference is about it's a weber 100/1000 series; a 200/2000 series or a 300/3000 series.

Weber charcoal models serial numbers: Before October of 2012, weber charcoal models did not have full serial numbers. Instead they had a one or two letter serial code. Since October of 2012 charcoal models have serial numbers: two letters + 5 or 6 numbers.

• Lid damper, one or two letters prior to 2013 production. As of 10/1/2012, the two letter code is followed by a series of numbers.
